This teacher is trying to get his students to understand that school is not entirely about the learning. It is about facing difficult situations and learning from them, making mistakes and growing from them. He is trying to persuade the students that quitting in school is not only quitting in education, but quitting in life. Every day, we learn something new. Not just math or English or social studies, but we learn about the things around us. The people and the places. We learn about facing fear and enduring pain and standing up for yourself. The "main event" isn't showing up to school and learning about things you don't want to learn about. The "main event" is being strong enough to get out of bed, despite what you are feeling. The "main event" is surrounding yourself with people who will not hesitate to judge you. The "main event" is life, and learning how to live it.

3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. 

On Friday I went to the varsity baseball game at Northwest with my friends. After that, we went to dinner at Panera. On Saturday I just hung out with my friends for a little at one of their houses. On Sunday, I went to see the movie "The Longest Ride" at Cinetopia, and then I went to Jose Peppers for dinner. Monday was spent doing homework and getting ready for this week of school.

I disagree with this statement because some images on the internet are other people's specifically, and using them could be like taking other people's work depending on the image.

I think my resume website was good but could have been a lot better. I definitely could have added more details and more color, but I struggled with the code and wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out. Compared to some people in the class, mine looked bad. But also, compared to some others, it looked good. My website is pretty average. If I could change anything about the way I went about this project, I would have spent more time planning out how I wanted it to look instead of just winging it as I went along. I have really enjoyed working in Photoshop and being able to customize a website on my own because I have never done anything like this before and it feels good to have made an entire website when in the past I wouldn't have even known where to start. It can be extremely frustrating at times, especially when I'm trying to get things to go in the right place, but when it all comes together I feel that the frustration was worth it. I think the skills I've learned during this project will lead me even further into web design, and I'm confident that these skills will help me in the future.

The coolest thing I've learned in web design so far is how to customize certain aspects of a website. This will help me in the future so that if I ever have a website or a blog that I need to customize, I'll know how to make it look good.

User experience is the overall experience of a person who is using a computer or any other application. It relates to web design because the design of a website is what is going to affect the user's experience, so the design must be something that is pleasing to any viewer.

A resume website is a website containing someone's information that is needed to get a certain job or career. Resume websites can be accessed by any employer at all times. This also allows someone to include links on the website to guide employers to certain sources to better understand someone's past. This can be extremely helpful to those searching for jobs because it's easy for any employer to stumble across the website resume when searching on the internet.

Staying in Kansas. Most of my friends are going out of town so I'll probably just go shopping and lay around. I wish I could go to the beach but unfortunately that isn't going to happen.

I look up to my mom because she's the strongest person I've ever met. She's loving, independent, and doesn't let anyone put her down. I admire her because she's been through plenty of bad things and still has the courage to keep going and to stay positive.

If you were the Principal for a week at BVHS, what would that look like? What changes would you make? Why?

If I were the principal at BVHS, I would try my best to make sure this is a place people want to be at, not dread to be at. I would give the students WiFi and make food available at all times. I would also make sure the school isn't freezing because it usually is. I would find ways to make sure students are having fun, and I would check in with them to make sure their teachers are treating them well and people are genuinely caring about their feelings.

Friday night was relay for life, and I stayed until midnight. On Saturday, I went to the mall with my parents and then went to my friend's house for a bonfire that night. I spent Sunday sleeping and getting ready for the three day week.

I spent my Friday night with my family. We just watched TV and ate dinner at home. On Saturday, I hung out with my friends. We just watched movies. I spent Sunday doing homework and getting ready for another week of school. This weekend was pretty boring and relaxed.

I would spend my class time working hard so I know what I'm doing when I finally have the career I'd been working for. Color can convey a lot of emotion when it comes to designing anything from a product to a website to an advertisement to a logo and so much more. What do you think the importance of colors on a website are? What is a color scheme and why is it important to have when designing? Explain any thoughts you might have around color in design.

Colors are important in a website in many ways. The website becomes more attractive, the website makes you feel things, the website convinces you to keep scrolling. A color scheme is an arrangement of different colors, and if the color scheme's colors don't go well together it's probably going to make the website a lot less attractive.

Friday night, I went to dinner with my friends and we got our nails done. On Saturday morning, I went to breakfast with my dad. Then I came home and started getting ready for Sweetheart. I went to my friend's house at 4 to do my hair with her, and then pictures were at 5 at her house. Our group of about twelve people went to Kyoto for dinner. The night was really fun and I think we all had a pretty good time.

Kids are always on their phones or using some kind of technology. They hardly speak to each other in person, and when they make plans they'll ask over a text message or a snap chat rather than calling on the phone or asking in person. Some of them rarely even go outside.

The most difficult part for me is probably the ordered and un ordered lists. It would be easier if I could understand how to make the un ordered lists inside of the ordered lists because that part never really made sense to me. I understand opening and closing tags, customizing the font, and most of everything else.

On Saturday night I went to a friend's house and hung out for a while. On Sunday night, I went to Snow Creek, which is a big hill about an hour away that has fake snow that you can tube or ski on. I spent my Monday doing homework and getting organized for the school week.

I'm not involved in any clubs or activities at the moment, but next year I plan on doing Newspaper if I can and Student Council. I'm a Sophomore, and my favorite class is probably Honors English or Web Design. This school year hasn't been the best for me, so I'm really looking forward to making this semester a lot better than the last. I plan to get good grades and put a lot more effort into my work.

What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.

So far, this class has been really fun for me. I've always wanted to learn how to code and make a blog, and I've learned so much more in this past week than I have outside of school. The coding can be difficult at times, but I'm sure it'll get much easier the more I do it. I'm super excited to learn about all the ways that are possible to customize a website or a blog. I think it's really cool to be able to change the "skeleton" of a website.

On Saturday morning, I went to ask my friend to sweetheart. That night, my friends and I went to Jose Peppers and ate dinner. After that, we went to another one of my friend's house and watched movies. Yesterday, I went to a rec basketball game to watch my friend's team play, and then I came home and did all of my homework and studied for my tests I have today.

I think it does make sense. There are simple and easy ways to prepare yourself for the future and to make a difference in your career or goals. There are also complicated and difficult ways, but either way you are creating the future. I agree with the statement, because the days that go by and nothing is done are days that are just a waste of 24 hours. Why not get things done? Why not be productive? Once a day is gone, it's impossible to get it back.
